Yahoo Tops Google in U.S. for Web Traffic in July, ComScore Says

Yahoo! Inc. (YHOO) attracted more U.S. visitors than Google Inc. (GOOG) during July for the first time since May 2011, indicating that turnaround efforts by Chief Executive Officer Marissa Mayer are gaining traction.
More than 196 million Web users spent time on the largest U.S. Web portal’s sites during the month, up 21 percent from a year earlier, ComScore Inc. said in a statement today. That’s 4.3 million more than Google, operator of the world’s most-popular search engine, up less than 1 percent. The report doesn’t include Tumblr, which Yahoo bought earlier this year, or mobile users, ComScore said.
Mayer has been pushing Yahoo’s developers and designers to make improvements to the Sunnyvale, California-based company’s products and services since she was hired in July of last year from Google. She revamped the home page, e-mail and weather services with sleeker designs and other improvements. More users will lead to better financial results, she said in July.
“Hire and retain a great team; build inspiring products that will attract users and increased traffic; that traffic will increase advertiser interest and ultimately translate to revenue,” Mayer said on a call with analysts. “People, then products, then traffic, then revenue.”
That chain reaction hasn’t started yet. Second-quarter revenue, minus sales passed to partner sites, fell 1 percent to $1.07 billion and also missed analysts’ estimates of $1.08 billion.

klo gak salah beberapa hari lalu sekitar 5 menitan,beberapa layanan google seperti gmail,youtube dll servernya down,mungkin itu yg menyebabkan Yahoo menang selam 5menit CMIIW

berat kayaknya lawan google..

 

Iya kemungkinan besar akibat dari tumbangnya layanan google kemarin. Tapi berharap sih ada saingan si mbah google.

Yahoo Gets More U.S. Visitors Than Google for First Time Since 2011


Marissa Mayer's winning streak at Yahoo continued this week as comScore released figures showing Yahoo sites got more visitors than Google's in July.


That's the first time Yahoo has bested Google in this measure since April 2011, according to a comScore rep. Yahoo had a little more than 400,000 more visitors than Google did in that time, according to the researcher:


Those figures did not include Tumblr, which had about 38.4 million U.S. visitors during the month. The numbers also do not reflect Google's continued dominance in search. Google has about 67% of that market, according to comScore.
